Terms and Conditions

BOOKING A TOUR R&M ehf, operating as Icelandic Adventures, is a tour operator offering snowmobile and ice fishing tours in North Iceland. Bookings can be made through our website, via email, or through selected third-party travel agencies.

When booking a tour, it is your responsibility to provide accurate contact information to ensure we can reach you if necessary. Upon completing your booking, you will receive a voucher, which serves as your proof of purchase. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your booking, please contact us so we can assist you.

PICK-UP & DROP-OFF For tours with pick-up services, it is your responsibility to be at the agreed location at the specified time. Providing a phone number is helpful in case we need to contact you. Please note that no-shows will be fully charged. If you miss the pick-up, you will not be entitled to a refund. If this occurs, please contact us immediately.

RETURN TIMES Return times are approximate and may vary due to weather or other unforeseen conditions in the highlands.

LIMITATIONS

• Pregnant individuals are prohibited from participating in snowmobile activities.
• Children under the age of six (6) are not permitted on snowmobiles.
• Participants with disabilities may need to bring any necessary aids, as facilities in the highlands are limited.

EXCLUSIONS Unless specifically stated, meals and refreshments are not included. During full-day excursions, we will stop at locations where food can be purchased.

RISKS Icelandic Adventures tours involve outdoor activities in unpredictable weather and terrain. Participants must understand and accept the associated risks before booking. These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Falling or tipping over the snowmobile
• Injuries caused by incorrect operation
• Exposure to cold and wet conditions
• Potential separation from the group

Participants must dress appropriately in warm, windproof clothing and sturdy footwear to enjoy the tour safely.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS

• Participants must inform Icelandic Adventures of any health conditions that could affect their safety or the safety of others, including but not limited to epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, or pregnancy.
• Operators of snowmobiles must hold a valid driver’s license and present it upon request.
• Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs that impair judgment or physical ability.
• Participants must follow all safety instructions provided by Icelandic Adventures guides.

PARTICIPANT LIABILITY Participants are responsible for any damage caused by their carelessness or failure to follow instructions. Liability for damage to snowmobiles is capped at 150,000 ISK per incident. Icelandic Adventures’ liability is limited to accidents caused by defects in or improper use of equipment by employees.

INSURANCE

• R&M ehf holds a general third-party liability insurance policy with Sjóvá-Almennar tryggingar (kt 650909-1270).
• Snowmobiles are insured under a compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance as per Icelandic Motor Insurance Act no. 30/2019.

We recommend that participants secure personal travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. EU residents should bring their European Health Insurance Card when traveling to Iceland.

PRICING Prices include Icelandic VAT and are subject to currency fluctuations and supplier conditions. The standard VAT rate for tours is 11%.

CANCELLATION POLICY Reservations can be canceled up to 24 hours before departure without penalty. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure will be charged in full.

LEGAL R&M ehf (kt 710510-1560) operates under Icelandic laws and regulations. Legal disputes will be settled in the District Court of Akureyri. Contact information for legal representation is available upon request.

PAYMENT PROCESSOR Payments are processed by Teya Iceland ehf. Accepted payment methods include major credit cards such as Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. Personal information related to payment is handled in accordance with our agreement with Teya Iceland ehf and is never disclosed to third parties.

LIABILITY Icelandic Adventures reserves the right to adjust routes and itineraries due to weather, safety concerns, or other factors beyond our control. We are not liable for losses, delays, or additional costs caused by external factors such as weather, strikes, or accidents.

CONFIDENTIALITY All personal and payment information is handled confidentially and will not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law or regulatory obligations.

PHOTOS FROM THE TRIP All photos taken during the trip are the property of Icelandic Adventures and may be used for promotional purposes. If you wish, we can provide you with an album of the trip photos.

NEWSLETTER By booking with us, you consent to receiving our newsletter, which you can opt out of after the initial communication.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Icelandic Adventures shall not be held liable for any injuries or property damage, whether direct or indirect, arising from your trip with us. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept these terms, conditions, and policies. Icelandic Adventures reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
